[Remote] AI Staff Software Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PromptQL is a company focused on enhancing AI’s accuracy and reliability in enterprise environments. They are seeking a Staff AI Software Engineer to build the technical backbone of their AI systems and contribute to the development of the PromptQL product.

Responsibilities

• Write production code, design architecture, optimize performance, shape infrastructure, and contribute to safety mechanisms
• Build the core stack, rapidly design and implement features across the PromptQL AI assistant, the PromptQL data engine, and the PromptQL runtime infrastructure

Skills

• You have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, with at least 1+ years building AI or ML-powered systems
• You've designed and shipped complex distributed systems at scale, and you know how to optimize for performance, cost, and reliability
• You've worked directly with large language models (LLMs) in production
• You're fluent in Python and/or a systems language, and you can move comfortably between infrastructure, APIs, and core product logic
• You're comfortable leading technically: writing high-leverage design docs, setting engineering direction, and mentoring other senior engineers
• You're biased toward action and can operate with high autonomy. You know how to unblock yourself and others
• You care about quality, safety, and performance. And you bring a systems-level perspective to how engineering decisions impact the product and user
