If you are goal oriented, have a passion for wildlife, and know how to help others succeed, then the Conservation Species Wildlife Biologist with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is the job for you! As the Conservation Species Wildlife Biologist in the Northern Region, you will collect and analyze biological data for species listed in the Wildlife Action Plan. You will also create and strengthen local partnerships with members of the public, private landowners, public land users and user groups, conservation organizations, and state and federal government agencies. Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: Administer the wildlife conservation program for the Northern Region Oversee and supervise seasonal employees Participate in conservation outreach with native species Study design, data collection, analysis and management Budget oversight Respond to nuisance wildlife situations Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: A Master's Degree or BS with 4 years of related experience preferred Knowledge of native birds and mammals in Utah Skills with a wide variety of wildlife field methods including capture and handling of birds and mammals Knowledge of research and monitoring principles and techniques including sampling and statistical analysis Ability to effectively communicate internally with staff as well as outreach and education with the public Supervisory skills Knowledge of computer software including GIS Ability to collect, compile, analyze and summarize data in written and oral reports Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently Field skills necessary to work or camp in adverse or remote locations Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, policies and procedures Driver's license Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Chemical Immobilization (within probationary period) Trailer training (within probationary period) First Aid and CPR Training Write Species Management Plans that allow for species sustainability Be part of a team of DWR Employees implementing the priorities of the Wildlife Section Ability to safely pull trailers and operate ATV's/UTV's/snowmobiles About the Role Location

Overnight travel is often required. Working odd hours, late nights, early mornings, several hours of travel. Some call out, pick up road kill, ability to euthanize animals using firearms, etc. Certifications/Licenses
