Traveling Service Technician - Eastern US

Job Description

The Traveling Service Technician will provide technical support, maintenance, and repair services for commercial and industrial laundry equipment at various customer locations. The position will be responsible for exemplary customer service, efficiency and reliability to meet scheduling demands. The Traveling Service Technician must exhibit strong adherence to the company’s core values.   • Travel to customer sites to provide technical support, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance as scheduled by the service manager.
  • Complete accurate and detailed records of work completed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to include training on equipment operation, maintenance and rationale of repairs and service.
  • Collaborate with other technical staff onsite and inhouse to resolve complex issues and develop solutions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Demonstrate a safe work environment in all areas of work for example lock out tag out.

Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and systems of commercial laundry equipment.
  • Ability to complete thorough written inspections of equipment and recommendations of required scope of work.
  • Working knowledge of utility systems within commercial laundries.
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical and layout blueprints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of customers and vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Processes.

Supervisory responsibilities There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role. Work environment Commercial laundry/shop environment with regular exposure to industrial machinery, possible noise, and respiratory pollutants. Wear PPE as required: uniforms, safety eye wear, masks, gloves, respirators, work boots, hard/bump hats, fall protection and ear protection. Physical demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to physically bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Demonstrate visual acuity to inspect products and manual dexterity to perform repairs. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds in the form of boxes of supplies or product components. Ability to operate a motor vehicle is required. Travel Required Must be able and willing to travel away from home overnight 85% of the time. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and maintain to the Company’s sole satisfaction an insurable motor vehicle operating status. Required Education And Experience Requires knowledge ordinarily acquired from a high school diploma and a minimum of 5 years related field experience in an industrial environment.
