Company : KonteX Neuroscience Location : Remote (Global) Employment Type : Part-time (flexible hours) About KonteX We are an agile, science-driven company developing advanced tools for in vivo electrophysiology and neuroscience research. Our focus is on building practical, high-performance systems that support real experimental workflows across academic, pharmaceutical, and clinical environments. As our product capabilities expand, we are investing in high-quality technical documentation to ensure our users can effectively deploy, adapt, and scale their experiments. Role Overview We are seeking a Technical Writer with hands-on electrophysiology experience to develop clear, accurate, and technically rigorous documentation for our systems. This role is best suited for someone who has directly conducted in vivo experiments and understands the gap between how systems are designed and how they are actually used in the lab. You will be responsible for translating complex hardware/software workflows into structured documentation that supports both new and experienced users.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Documentation

  • Develop and maintain user manuals, including system setup, recording workflows, and troubleshooting guides
  • Create knowledge base articles to address common user issues and edge cases

Scientific & Application Content: write technical notes and white papers covering topics such as:

  • In vivo electrophysiology workflows
  • Neural signal acquisition and processing
  • Optogenetics and fiber photometry integration
  • BCI/BMI and closed-loop experimental paradigms

Workflow Translation

  • Convert real experimental use cases into clear, reproducible documentation
  • Identify gaps in usability or documentation based on writing and user perspective

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work with engineering and application teams to validate technical accuracy
  • Provide feedback on product usability and documentation structure

Documentation Standards

  • Contribute to building consistent documentation frameworks, templates, and terminology

Required Qualifications

MSc or PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field Hands-on experience with in vivo electrophysiology, including:

  • Experimental design
  • Surgical implantation
  • Data acquisition and analysis

Experience with electrophysiology platforms such as:

  • Open Ephys
  • TDT (Tucker-Davis Technologies)
  • Blackrock Neurotech
  • or comparable systems

Familiarity with:

  • Optogenetics
  • Fiber photometry
  • Closed-loop or BCI/BMI systems

Demonstrated ability in technical or scientific writing (e.g., publications, protocols, internal documentation) Strong written English with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and precision Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience writing user-facing technical documentation (manuals, SOPs, or product documentation) Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Notion, Confluence) Ability to create supporting visuals (figures, diagrams, workflow schematics) Exposure to commercial or product development environments Working Model Fully remote with flexible scheduling Part-time commitment (hours defined based on availability and deliverables) Occasional overlap with Taiwan (GMT+8) for collaboration, when needed Why This Role This role is designed for researchers who want to apply their experimental expertise in a focused, high-impact way—without stepping fully into a commercial or customer-facing position. Clear, technically sound documentation is critical to how our products are adopted and used. This position plays a direct role in shaping that experience for the neuroscience community.

How to Apply

Apply at LinkedIn here or send your CV to [email protected]. If available, include:

  • Writing samples (publications, protocols, or technical documentation)
