[Remote] Senior Data Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. HD Tech Recruit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a growing business and technology consulting environment. This role will support client-facing projects focused on data migration, transformation, reporting, and modern data platform implementation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to understand data requirements, architecture, and business objectives
• Partner with business users to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical designs
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using tools such as Snowflake, Oracle, Fivetran, dbt, and IICS
• Support or lead the implementation of Snowflake data warehouse solutions, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Apply best practices for data governance, security, compliance, and data quality
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely and effective manner
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Stay current with emerging data engineering, analytics, and cloud data platform technologies

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong SQL programming skills and experience with database management systems, particularly Snowflake and Oracle
• Hands-on experience with data integration and transformation tools such as Fivetran, dbt, and Informatica Integration Cloud Services
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing, and collaborative environment
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working in dynamic and evolving project environments
• Professional, composed, and consultative approach
• Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and team members
• Experience with Oracle-to-Snowflake migration projects is desirable
• Experience with Windows scripting and automation tools is a plus
