[Remote] Engineering Manager

Bellese Technologies is a mission-driven Digital Services Company focused on pioneering innovative technology solutions in civic healthcare. They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software and QA engineers, ensuring high engineering standards and fostering a positive team culture while contributing to the development of a centralized application for Program Integrity Contractors within Medicare and Medicaid.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of software and QA engineers (currently 8), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, and career development to team members through regular one-on-ones
- Drive efficient processes and standards to enable team success and maintain high engineering standards
- Participate in resource planning and recruitment activities to scale the engineering team as necessary
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and positive team culture
- Leverage test-driven development to deliver backend systems and user interfaces to ease development and integration between them
- Contribute to the development of APIs, specifications, and data models, facilitating integration with frontend applications and third-party systems
- Design, implement, and maintain data interactions. Optimize data operations for performance and scalability, and ensure data integrity and security
- Design and develop user interfaces, informed by UX designs that meet customer needs
- Understand and contribute to functional and non-functional automated testing suites
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of work experience
- AWS knowledge & experience
- Experience working on a large-scale system with over 100 users
- FHIR
- AI/ML
