Remote Desktop Support Expert

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Desktop Support Specialist to become a key member of our esteemed team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to support and enhance our organization's IT infrastructure while contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Efficiently set up and configure new workstations, applications, upgrades, and patches. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Collaborate with the IT Service Desk and Engineers to address technical issues and implement new technologies. Respond to helpdesk tickets promptly, providing both onsite and remote support to end users. Maintain comprehensive documentation of issues, resolutions, and processes within our helpdesk system. Provide technical support and training to IT staff, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing. Plan, test, and implement system and software upgrades as needed. Participate in disaster recovery testing, documenting results and recommendations for improvement. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations by addressing audit findings. Be a proactive member of the Incident Management Team, prioritizing tasks during declared incidents. Participate in a rotational 24/7 on-call support schedule, ensuring continuous support. Attend training sessions to deepen knowledge of IT systems and compliance practices. Required Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10/11, imaging, deployment, and patching processes. Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, GPO, DNS, and DHCP. Understanding of ITIL processes such as Change Management and Problem Management. Knowledge of networking principles and remote support tools. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in desktop support and IT services. An Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience of 1-3 years. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel.
