Trystar is a leader in portable and permanent power distribution solutions, and they are seeking a Director of Business Development – Data Center. This role is responsible for establishing Trystar as a preferred power solutions partner across hyperscale, colocation, and other data center programs, focusing on market strategy, customer engagement, and team leadership to drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the Data Center market and market opportunities to develop and lead the execution of a coordinated sales strategy focused on fulfilling Trystar’s vision to be a full solution provider to our customers
  • Lead directly and through influence a data center team including direct reports and cross functional partners (Application Engineering, Field Sales Engineering and CX)
  • Coach team members on complex, multi‑year pursuit selling
  • Establish operating cadence, pipeline rigor, and account planning discipline
  • Create plans and campaigns that mobilize the Trystar team to develop opportunities and increase win rates
  • Engage directly with Data Center Customers to win new accounts by:
  • Identify how Trystar can help meet their unmet needs and constraints with our current offering or through custom solutions
  • Partner with Engineering and Solution Owners to translate customer standards into scalable offerings
  • Drive inclusion of Trystar solutions in customer standards, basis‑of‑design documents, and EPC specs
  • Identify Data Center current and future capital expenditure plans and transition quoting and fulfillment activity to the Trystar CX team, supporting as needed through successful order conversion and ensuring a world-class customer experience
  • Execute sales forecasting at a level that improves the effectiveness of the other functional groups’ performance and helps Trystar exceed customer expectations on delivery and responsiveness
  • Exhibit a growth mindset and display your ability to manage change
  • Utilize your business acumen in regular decision making
  • Articulate technology differentiators to both business and technical audiences, external and internal

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong communication skills
  • 10+ years of B2B sales experience with 5+ years of electrical system BD experience in the Data Center market
  • Ability to travel up to 70% to engage customers, EPC partners, industry events, and Trystar facilities across North America
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Engineered‑to‑order / complex electrical systems experience
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Strong team and collaboration skills across multiple functions with ability to quickly build strong partnerships both internally and externally
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to manage through influence
