Step By Step Accounting is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our growing team. Applicants MUST live within a 120 mile radius of West Fargo, ND. A resume is required. Training is provided along. Please note that we do not provide tax or assurance services. Learn more at: www.stepbystepaccounting.com WHAT YOU'LL DO: As a Junior Accountant, your will duties will include:
- Bookkeeping tasks — Working in QuickBooks Online to code transactions, process bank feeds, and organize receipts
- Accounts payable processing — Entering, routing, and processing vendor bills using AI‑supported tools
- Accounts receivable support — Sending invoices and recording payments
- Payroll processing — Running recurring payrolls for assigned clients
- Account reconciliations — Completing basic bank and loan reconciliations
- Month‑end entries — Preparing and entering simple journal entries
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Attention to detail — Accuracy is essential in all client work
- Technical proficiency — Comfortable learning new software; Excel skills preferred
- Typing speed of 50 WPM
- QuickBooks experience (preferred but not required)
- Adaptability — Ability to learn different client processes
- Growth mindset — Openness to feedback and continuous improvement
- Ethical judgment and professionalism

Experience & Education:
- No experience required; preference given to candidates with 1–2 years in bookkeeping, accounting, AP/AR, or QuickBooks
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (business majors encouraged)
- English required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $36,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
