Human Resources Specialist (Entry or Senior)

Position Summary This position performs personnel management tasks related to Human Resources (HR) policies and processes at WVHUG. The incumbent is responsible for providing expertise and leadership in the management and coordination of recruitments and position vacancies. The position will assist with advising supervisors on employee relations processes, reviewing Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence Requests, and coordinating the worker's compensation and return to work program. This position will assist with ensuring consistent application of HR and agency policy. Major goals of this position include the administration and coordination of employment relations, position classification, staffing, FMLA, medical leave, and wellness programs. The position has critical communication responsibilities and is responsible for ensuring that the HR Supervisor is advised of existing and developing issues in the facility. To view full copies of the position descriptions, click the following links: Human Resources Specialist Human Resources Specialist - Senior Salary Information The starting salary for Human Resources Specialist is between $33.50 - $35.50 an hour ($69,680 - $73,840 annually). The entry level classification is in pay schedule and range 81-04. The starting salary for Human Resources Specialist - Senior is between $36.00 - $38.00 an hour ($74,880 - $79,040 annually). The senior level classification is in pay schedule and range 81-03. Salaries are dependent on candidate qualifications. Compensation for current State employees may vary and will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. Job Details This position is eligible to work remotely after an initial training period. Remote work is intended to be performed in the State of Wisconsin. High speed internet access is a requirement of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change based on business needs. Due to the nature of this position's duties, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check prior to appointment. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application. Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience with the following:

  • Performing full-cycle recruitment and selection activities (e.g., creating or updating position descriptions, position analysis, developing job announcements, reviewing, or recommending compensation requests, developing applicant screening criteria, etc.); and
  • Coordinating employment relations activities (e.g., reviewing employee discipline documents for accuracy and completion, assisting management with work rule interpretation, assisting with employee investigation processes, etc.). Well qualified applicants will also have experience with the following:
  • Coordination of FMLA or Medical Leave (e.g., providing consultation and technical assistance to employees and/or management regarding; tracking and documenting leave use; maintaining documentation, etc.); or
  • Providing HR consultation to a variety of healthcare facility staff (professional healthcare, direct care, blue-collar, management and supervisors, paraprofessionals, treatment, etc.) regarding HR processes and policies; or
