Fintech / Consumer Lending Consultant (Direct Lending + Bank Partnership Structuring)

We are seeking an experienced consumer finance / lending consultant to advise on the development and structuring of a new financing company that will operate alongside an existing business. This is a strategic consulting and advisory role for someone who has real-world experience helping launch or structure lending operations, including both direct lending models and bank partnership (“rent-a-bank”) structures. We are intentionally keeping the project details confidential at this stage, so we are looking for someone who can work under discretion and guide a multi-phase process from planning through implementation. Project Overview We are building a financing company designed to support a broader business ecosystem. The goal is to create a properly structured lending operation that is: Legally compliant Operationally scalable Attractive to future capital partners Structured for long-term growth This is a longer-term consulting engagement where you will act as a strategic advisor throughout the process. Scope of Advisory You will help advise on areas such as: Lending Model Strategy Direct lending model design Bank partnership / rent-a-bank framework Evaluating pros/cons of each structure ⚖️ Regulatory & Compliance Guidance Structuring for multi-state lending operations Licensing pathways and requirements Consumer finance compliance considerations Vendor and servicing structure recommendations Corporate & Operational Structuring Legal entity strategy Operational framework for lending workflows Underwriting, servicing, collections, and reporting considerations Designing a scalable operating model Capital Markets & Funding Considerations Structuring loans for future note sales Secondary market readiness Warehouse lines / funding relationships Preparing for institutional partnerships Ongoing Strategic Support Consulting throughout setup and implementation Reviewing vendor options Helping navigate operational decisions as the company develops Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has: Direct experience in: Consumer lending Fintech or specialty finance Bank partnership / sponsor bank models Loan purchasing or secondary markets Experience with: Lending compliance frameworks Lending company formation Building finance operations from the ground up Strong understanding of: Risk management Capital structures Lending operations ⭐ Highly Preferred Experience launching or advising: Point-of-sale lending companies Consumer installment lending businesses Specialty finance programs Existing familiarity with: Bank partnership ecosystems Lending compliance vendors Note sale structures Engagement Structure Fractional / consulting role Long-term advisory relationship preferred Flexible engagement depending on experience and involvement
