Job Summary

As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting our team of registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing specialists in the Revenue Recovery Department. Your primary responsibilities will include data entry, medical record retrieval, and project support, ensuring that our clients receive the reimbursement they are entitled to. This is a hybrid position with a mix of remote and in-office work, offering the perfect blend of flexibility and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

* Retrieve patient medical records from various hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Generate and prepare patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits
  • Extract and enter necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems
  • Make phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain information needed on patients
  • Run and create reports to support revenue recovery efforts
  • Assist with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team
  • Scan and index documents to maintain accurate and organized records

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in medical records, data entry, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in revenue recovery or health information management

  • Familiarity with hospital patient accounting systems and revenue cycle management
  • Certification in medical records or a related field (e.g., Certified Medical Record Specialist (CMRS))
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting, including creating and interpreting reports
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment
