Job Description

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of software products. This role involves collaborating closely with development teams to integrate automated testing into the software development lifecycle, identifying potential issues early, and optimizing test coverage. The engineer will also analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and maintain testing frameworks. Strong technical skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in testing practices are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document end-to-end test cases, testing routines, and testing procedures
  • Review processes for completeness and identify gaps
  • Conduct system testing to ensure proper system functionality and identify opportunities for enhancements
  • Facilitate the transition from QA testing to User Acceptance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop maintenance, testing, communications, and conversion plans for system changes following the change control process
  • Provide system training and support to internal users as new system enhancements are deployed
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review project scope and determine project specifications
  • Consult on process analysis and design, recommending alternative solutions, both automated and manual, to meet those needs
  • Drive the requirements gathering process to ensure meaningful requirements are identified for the solution
  • Document requirements and conduct requirements walkthroughs
  • Utilize JIRA to develop a detailed project plan and to document processes and issues
  • Monitor compliance and adherence to company standards
  • Assist with control remediation projects (as needed).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of Automation Quality Assurance
  • Working proficiently with GitHub Copilot and TestRail
  • Experience in using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience working with Agile teams
  • Experience with Black Box and While Box testing with understanding of/experience with SQA methodologies, techniques, and approaches
  • Ownership of test plan development and execution for customer-facing applications
  • Experience creating and executing tests like regression, performance, stress, unit, API, integration, and security testing
  • Experience in communicating with business users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques
  • Strong techniques of functional testing
  • Database (MSSQL, Mongo, MySQL)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $82,400 - $110,000. Pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education and training. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus, commission, or other variable pay plan.
