JOB The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HS&EM), Outreach Branch,is recruiting for and Emergency Management Specialist 1/2.This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit at a range 14 or 16.Emergency Management Specialist 1: Range 14 - $1,999.50 b/wEmergency Management Specialist 2: Range 16 - $2,296.50 b/wThis position is open to Alaska Residents only.Please check our Definition FAQ to determine if you qualify.Please Note: This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at either the 1 or 2 level, depending on the applicant's training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at Level 1, promotion to the Level 2 will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training, as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class.What You Will Be Doing: As an Emergency Management Specialist II, this position assists the Outreach Branch Chief in creating, developing, implementing, and administering effective statewide emergency management preparedness outreach and educational programs. The role requires a strong working knowledge of disaster preparedness and response programs, as well as the ability to communicate complex information clearly through both written and verbal channels.
